so i got stuck on the R train this morning for 20 minutes. talk about a) terrifying and b) gruesome...

first of all, where did i get stuck, you ask? right after the WTC stop which is closed because THAT is the stop that emptied straight into the mall at the WTC. it's amazing to go by that stop actually. it looks like it is closed for repairs. it is still a beautiful stop. the tile work is still intact and there is absolutely no debris. it is a weird thought to be sitting there thinking about 3800 missing bodies above you.

so that was fun. cause i love being stuck under the WTC wreckage.

and then, of course, keep in mind that on 9/11, when people were stuck on the subways, they told them nothing or they told them there was a stuck train. which is probably a good idea. but so we were stuck and they were saying "there's a train up ahead at canal with faulty brakes. we will be moving shortly." so i think "great, either there's another plane or there's an anthrax bomb up there and they're just keeping us calm."

lastly. the woman next to me was wearing a ton of perfume. i wish people would think about perfume-wearing before they do it. seriously. so many people have allergies. and while it is better than farting on the train, it is hard when you're allergic.

or pregnant and unexpected smells can bring on waves of nausea. my morning sickness isn't that bad - i don't usually actually puke like some women, but gagging into my hand bag is bad enough.

i told my car this morning that i was pregnant. since i was gagging into my hand bag. i apologized and said "i have morning sickness and someone's perfume set this off" which really didn't make it any better.
