props to partygirl for, as usual, breaking it down for me.

the friends who give me shit about being unavailable are usually friends who rely on me too much to begin with. the one i was snapping about actually has made only one new friend since graduating college 6 years ago.

as for other folks. i am not telling everyone about the pregnancy. which means that explaining that going out in the week is really not an option for me. i have to take a nap AFTER my shower just so i can get the energy to go to work. i nap on the subway, at my desk, and on the way home. i fall asleep within a half hour of walking in the door.

first trimester exhaustion is not an exageration or a joke. i am physically exhausted. 24-7.

i cannot sleep through the night cause i wake up nauseous 2-3 times a night. and then i am awake for an hour or two. so, fall asleep at 8, wake at 2, sleep at 3, wake at 5, sleep at 6, wake at 7:30, nap 15 minutes after shower, go to work, nap in office, go home, sleep. by the weekend, i cannot get off the couch long enough to shower. it's why i scheduled chick night for MONDAY when i know i will be at least partially rested. i will still not be able to stay past 8.

which, i am sure, will bring loads of whining and carrying on. and may end with me announcing to everyone that i am pregnant and to shut the hell up. i'll probably cry too since i can't seem to control anger/sadness these days.

apparently, this exhaustion will end by januaryish. but in the meantime, as much as i would love to go have a drink or dinner or anything, i am really not physically capable of it.

i can barely go to work, nevermind spend a few hours comforting my friends when they have abortions.
